The courtyard held a collapsed shed and a young lime tree. The tree stayed. The workshop is one room, poured in place against sawn spruce shuttering, with the grain and every tie hole left showing because that is what the client's own work looks like.

North light comes from a clerestory strip under the flat roof, which is the only reason the room works. The sliding door is 2.9 meters wide so a finished wardrobe can leave without being taken apart.
